If you are attacked, you have the right to defend yourself,
but do you have the ability?
It's better to have the skills and not need them,
than to need them and not have them.
Introduction:
You could be the victim of a violent attack or crime at any time. You can't choose when, or whether you are attacked, but you can prepare yourself for an attack if it happens.
Self Defence Solutions offer a wide range of courses from basic personal safety to bespoke courses to suit your work environment or business needs. These can provide you with the tools to reduce the risk of becoming a victim, whilst at the same time increasing your chances of protecting yourself if you have to.
We all have the right to defend ourselves, but we don't all have the ability. However, you can do something about that NOW!
Courses provide practical personal safety advice and self defence instruction. The courses do not include fancy techniques that look good on the TV or in films but will not work on the street.

Personal Safety/ Self Defence Course - Level 2
This course follows on from the previous one with all participants having already completed Level 1. The course will review previous areas and then cover striking and self defence examples in greater detail with more examples being shown and practiced.
Womens' Self Defence - Basic Course
This course is tailored specifically for women and the types of threat or attack they are more likely to encounter. The theory part of the course will include similar aspects to the General course above but the physical elements will be geared towards women.
Womens' Self Defence - Advanced course
This course follows on from the Women's basic course and will go into greater depth on the physical content showing additional self defence examples not previously covered. All participants on this course will already need to have completed the Women's level 1 course.
Striking & Impact Techniques for Self Defence
This course only deals with striking and impact techniques and is therefore quite a physical workout as well as an informative session. The course will include power and accuracy training. Participants will learn and practice palm strikes, cupped hand strikes, hammer fists, elbows, knees and kicking. The course will also show how to apply these techniques effectively in real situations.
Control, Restraint & Escape Techniques
Controls include joint locking techniques and pain holds in order to control an aggressor/ attacker and either prvent or make it more difficult for them to carry out their attack. When used with certain striking techniques they can be an excellent method of self defence and provide an opporunity to escape. In general Self Defence controls do not stand on their own but are an excellent additional tool in the kit.
Controls and restraints are also very relevant in certain occupations like Law Enforcement and Security work etc.
Weapons - Defending against common street weapons
This course focusses on dealing with common street weapons such as sticks and knives. The course will explain how different types of attack can be recognised before it's too late which gives you a much greater chance to be able to deal with it effectvely. Different examples will be shown against different weapons and the principles required to make the defences work will be explained and demonstrated.
Adverse Situations & Group Attacks
Adverse situations is the term used to cover situations other than the normal face to face scenario. There are an infinite number of unusual situaltions that could be dealt with for example if you're in a car, kneeling down tying you shoe laces, sat in a chair etc. The course can be based around and specific areas of concern that the course delegates have.
Examples and methods will also be shown in order to give the best chance of escape from a group attack situation.
